Principles

DeepREM is intended to predict the most possible endogenous ligands or modulators for specific receptor protein, based on calculated disease correlation coefficients for all already known as well as commercially accessible human endogenous metabolites. According to our scheme in developing this tool, DeepREM can score and sort more than one thousand human endogenous metabolite for the receptor protein of interest. Then, top-ranking 20 or 30 endogenous metabolites can be commercially obtained and used for subsequent binding detection and cellular assays. Finally, the previously unknown endogenous ligand or modulator for specific receptor protein might be discovered using this approach.
