Omics and Text driven Component Maximization

Introduction

The synergistic effect of multiple active ingredients derived from the same compound of several medicinal herbs is also a unique advantage of traditional Chinese medicine in dealing with complex diseases, compared to Western medicine's strategy of "single ingredient acting on a single target". However, each compound traditional Chinese medicine contains multiple medicinal materials, and each medicinal material also contains hundreds of active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine. For example, selecting 4 out of 25 active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine results in a total of 12650 possible combinations, while selecting 5 out of 25 active ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine results in a total of 53130 possible combinations. In short, the number of combinations formed by multiple active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine in the compound is very large and difficult to verify one by one through experiments. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop new methods and technologies that can be used to predict the synergistic effects of different component combinations in traditional Chinese medicine.
